Botanical Spirits SugarCane Herbal Clarifying Shampoo Review

Written by Samara on March 25, 2010

Botanical Spirits SugarCane Herbal Clarifying ShampooI’m not a big fan of shampoo, but I tried the SugarCane Herbal Clarifying Shampoo by Botanical Spirits and I have to admit, I love it. The Sugar Cane Herbal Clarifying Shampoo left my hair feeling clean, but not stripped like most clarifying shampoo’s do. It also doesn’t suds up as much like most shampoos that are loaded with detergents. It has a fresh, clean, natural scent to it and it’s simply amazing.

Ingredients: Botanical Spirits Herbal Complex SE Water Extract, Sugar Cane Extract, Cocopolyglucoside Taurate, Cocomidoproply Betaine, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Glycerin, Lauryl Glucoside, Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate, Sodium Lauryl Glucose Carboxylate, Hemp seed oil, Grapeseed oil. Extract of Lemongrass and Lavendar, Citric Acid, Potassium Sorbate, Rosemary Leaf Extract, Sweet Orange Essential Oil, Fragrance.

If you are looking for a gentle clarifying shampoo, this is a winner. You can purchase it from http://www.botanicalspirits.com for $12.50 (8 oz bottle).  Again, this is yet another wonderful clarifying shampoo that not only contains the ingredients needed to remove buildup from the hair, but it is gentle and moisturizing as well.

Hi. I am new to this site and came upon it doing a review search for Palmer’s Coconut Oil Moisterizer. I have a question about relaxing my hair. I try to go six weeks but during the 4th week, I find tremendous shedding going on. Not sure if it is shedding or a lot of breakage, but I notice once I put a relaxer on, it diminishes the shedding/possible breakage. It’s almost like my hair starves for the relaxer to be put on! I am use to processing all over (heard that was bad), but just relaxing the new growth does not make my hair managable. Any advice?

Double processing your hair will lead to extreme hair loss, shedding and breakage. Your relaxed ends should be protected from the relaxer and the only area of the hair that the relaxer should be applied is the new growth. The shedding prior to your relaxer is probably due to breakage. Pay close attention the the strands. Do they have white bulbs on the ends? If not then your hair is breaking. It could be due to lack of moisture. During the 4th-6th week between relaxers, the hair needs to be deep conditioned and moisturized often because the demarcation line between the 2 different textures is a weak point in the hair. Deep Condition weekly and moisturize your hair every day with a mineral oil, petroleum, and protein free moisturizer. Raw shea butter is an excellent choice, followed by some olive oil or coconut oil to seal in the moisture.
