ELASTA QP Silk Thermal Designing Liquid

Written by Samara on November 27, 2009

ElastaQPSilkWhen I decided to blow dry and straighten my hair for the first time I chose the ELASTA QP Silk Thermal Designing Liquid as my heat protectant of choice. There are many heat protectant’s on the market, but I chose the ELASTA QP Silk Thermal Designing Liquid because my mom and sister both use it when they use heat in their hair. The ELASTA QP heat protectant is very inexpensive, priced at $2.99 at my local beauty supply. I planned on only using this protectant in my hair when I applied heat because adding extra oils can cause the hair to be fried resulting in irreversible heat damage.

I first cleansed my hair with the Come Clean Shampoo by Kinky-Curly and followed up with the Coconut Sublime Conditioner. I detangled my hair while the conditioner was still in my hair and then rinsed with warm water. I then separated my hair into 6 sections securing with clips and allowed my hair to become at least 80% dry. I sprayed the ELASTA QP protectant on my hair from root to tip working it through each section at a time.

Starting from the first section that I applied the ELASTA QP protectant I blow dried my hair. I then applied a ceramic flat iron following the blow dryer. My hair was soft, bouncy, and shiny. This was great, but the real test was to see if my hair would revert back to it’s natural state once I washed it. I wore my straight style for about 3 days and then cowashed my hair. When I stepped out of the shower my hair was back to it’s original state: a fro with plenty of shrinkage.

Based on my experience with the ELASTA QP Silk Thermal Designing Liquid, I will recommend this product to protect the hair from heat damage. This product is great for relaxed and natural hair. It’s inexpensive and it gets the job done.
