Curly Q’s for Target: La La Meringue Moisturizer & Red Velvet Curl Cream Review
Written by Samara on May 7, 2012
After a long and worthwhile wait, I was finally able to try the Curly Q’s for Target line in my little ones hair. Although I was unable to try the shampoo and conditioner in the line, my local Target did offer the Curly Q’s La La Meringue Moisturizer and the Red Velvet Moisturizing Curl Cream.
The Packaging
For starters the packaging is just absolutely adorable. I can admit that the designers took a lot of time in making these products stand out. The labels look better than the Curly Q’s professional labeling in my humble opinion. The labels consist of a little princess and prince riding a unicorn in an enchanted forest. How cute is that?
The Products
The La La Meringue Moisturizer reminds me much of the Lavish Curls Moisturizer and the Moist Curls Moisturizer from the professional Curls line. Although the ingredients aren’t exactly the same for the professional brand contains more herbal extracts, the La La Meringue Moisturizer still did the job. This product left my sons hair lightly moisturized and aided in detangling his 3a/3b hair.
Before using the La La Meringue Moisturizer, I always mist my sons hair lightly with plain water. I then spray the moisturizer into his hair and work it into his hair with my hands before detangling with a wide tooth comb. Please keep in mind that the La La Meringue Moisturizer sprays out in a stream and not a mist to help concentrate it on tangled areas in the hair.
At first I figured that the Red Velvet Curl Cream would be similar to the Curly Q’s Milkshake, but its nothing like it. This styling cream is similar to something like a hair milk so to speak because its a bit more thicker. The only product out of the Curls line that I can compare it to, is the Its A Curl Ring Around the Curlies Leave-In - which I love ?. Overall it did define my little ones hair. His hair was shiny, bouncy, moisturized, and without any frizz. His hair was not crunchy or hard at all and the product exceedingly meet my expectations. I actually like the Red Velvet Curl Cream more than the Curly Q Milkshake for my sons hair! It leaves it much more moisturized and softer than the Milkshake does, which is something I was looking for
My Conclusion
These products get two thumbs up from me
. I absolutely love them and they are worth the $10.99 I invested in them. If you have a Target in your area I recommend that you try these products out for your little ones hair. I’m sure that you will love them just as much as I and my little one does!
