Happy New Year Grow Black Hair! (2009)

Written by Samara on January 9, 2009

fireworksHappy New year to all. The site will be under going some changes. A new design will be in place before the end of this year and new sections are going to be added. I have been asked about natural hair care and this will be a new addition to the site for 2009.

My own personal hair care has recently changed also. I’ve decided to no longer relax my hair and transition back to natural hair. I am not suggesting that my viewers follow me, but if you decide to take this step I will be here to help you transition and learn how to care for your natural hair. You can cut all the relaxed hair off and start over or allow it to grow out to a certain length before cutting it if your aren’t ready to cut your long hair off just yet. You can also continue relaxing your hair and follow the guide on this site which is geared towards relaxed hair. For you natural women out there, you are all in for a treat this year with the new section which will contain a natural hair care regimen, products to use, and hair styles for natural hair!

Good luck with your hair decisions for the new year!

    Good Evening:

Thank you ever so much for that email regarding natural hair growth. I have come across many sites for Black women, only to be disappointed due to the fact that in this 21st Century, most women have made the decision to continue relaxing their hair in one way or another. A personal choice.

I’ve been in search of a site that allows for variations/diversity; aside from braids, extensions, weaves, and dred locks. My personal decision has been to wear my hair simply in the shortest natural cut avaialble – now I simply wish to grown it out, but an Afro is undue maintenance. Would you have any other suggestions for a Black woman who want s her hair natural, but doesn’t want to “pick it out” each morning??

    Thanx.

Have you used any of the Carols Daughter products? I heard that they worked well and have recently started using them. So far the products have been leaving my hair soft, manageable and shiny. Just wondering what was your take on them?

    Thanks!

first off i wont to say once again thank you so much for creating this site it has helped me so much for the last eight months..i am so happy to hear that you are coming out with a section on your web page for natural hair..but i am concerned..becuase i feel like there will be no more up dates on how to take care of relaxed hair, yes the info that you have supplied on relaxed hair has been helpful but i would like you to continue to add new up dates..hopefully this does not come off as complaning i juss wont to make sure that i would still be getting information on how to take care of relaxed hair..and not all the new information be about natural hair.. once again i am thrilled that you are coming out with a section for natural hair…God bless

I never said I was going to stop updating the site with information about relaxed hair. I only stated that a natural hair section will be added for women who’ve decided to wear their hair natural so there’s no need to worry.

I’ve never heard of them, but I will try them out and research them so I can provide a review on the product some time this year.

When the site’s natural hair care section is fully completed I will provide several types of hair styles that can be worn with natural hair. Have you ever tried two-strand twists? They are beautiful and you can leave them in for 3 days before washing and restyling.
