Karens Body Beautiful Hair Nectar Moisturizing Hair Spray

Written by Samara on September 25, 2009

Karens Beautiful Body Hair NectarI’ve been using a lot of the Curls Milkshake to moisturize my hair, and I can go through a 8oz jar of it in about a month. I needed to find another way to moisturize my hair so I could cut down on spending so much money. I was currently using my glycerin and water spray prior to applying the Curls Milkshake to enhance the moisturizing effects, but then a light bulb lit up! What if I mixed the glycerin and water spray with an everyday moisturizer instead? This would actually give me more product to use in the long run.

I looked through my closet and found the Karen’s Body Beautiful Hair Nectar. I purchased this product to review a few months ago, and I didn’t care for it because it wasn’t heavy enough for my 4b hair, but if I added a few ingredients to it, it may just work out. So I poured a third of the KBB Hair Nectar into my spray bottle followed by 1/2c of water and 1/2c of vegetable glycerin. I shook the bottle to mix the ingredients and sprayed my hair with it. I then sealed in the moisture with coconut oil. My hair has never been so soft before in all my months of being natural! This mixture moisturized my hair better than the Curls Milkshake ever has! My hair was soft and moist from the initial treatment into the next day. I also tried this on my 2 year old sons head, whom loves to roll around on the ground and does not cover his springy 4b hair with a satin cap at night. His hair is usually always dry, but even his hair was still soft and full of moisture the following day. You have to try this mixture, it will work wonders for natural hair, and it’s perfect for an after shampoo leave-in conditioner for relaxed hair.

Karen’s Body Beautiful Hair Nectar Moisturizing Hair Spray Ingredients:

  • 1/3 bottle of KBB Hair Nectar
  • 1/2 cup of purified water
  • 1/2 cup of vegetable glycerin

Mix together in a spray bottle and spray the hair lightly. Follow up with an oil or butter to seal in the moisture such as coconut oil or shea butter!

Have you tried her cream or butters? I heard they are thicker than the necter for us 4b’s. I haven’t tried any yet but after a review I saw on You Tube I really want to.

No I haven’t as of late. I prefer to make my own butters. You can too and with great results. There are so many combinations you can try. Try melting some unrefined shea butter in the microwave. Then add some jojoba oil, coconut oil, and glycerin to the mixture and mix thoroughly. Next set the mixture in the freezer and check on it every 3-5 minutes, stirring it every time you check until it becomes a creamy consistency. The oils will make the butter smooth and creamy instead of stiff. You can also try this with other butters or by adding other ingredients to your liking such as mango, cocoa, and aloe vera butters. Goodluck!
