Perfect Results Clarifying Shampoo Review

Written by Samara on September 13, 2009

prod_192_thI know that I’ve made it clear that I don’t use shampoo’s containing sulfates anymore, but as I was reading through my followers tweets on Twitter. I was inspired to write this review on Perfect Results Clarifying Shampoo.

When I tried the Perfect Results Clarifying shampoo some years ago, I purchased it to remove chlorine from my hair when I went swimming. I’d never forget how my hair felt after using it. My hair felt worst off because after using this shampoo my hair was dry and hard like straw. I would’ve been better off not washing the chlorine out of my hair at all! This shampoo was the worst shampoo I’ve ever used. Soon after that experience I learned about just using “neutralizing” shampoos to remove chlorine. Later in my haircare journey, I learned that sulfate free shampoos are best for African American hair types which then lead to a search for a non-sulfate clarifying shampoo.

I learned of two shampoos that could be used:

The Pure Curls Clarifying Shampoo made by curls.biz, and the Come Clean Shampoo by Kinky-Curly.com.

(Note: The Pure Curls Clarifying Shampoo no longer contains sulfates. Amazon hasn’t updated it’s ingredient list. The most current ingredient list is listed here.)

In conclusion, my recommendation is to steer clear of the Perfect Results Clarifying Shampoo unless you want hard dry hair. Use sulfate free cleansers to free your hair of chlorine after your dip in the pool!
