This review is about the RED by Kiss Ceramic 1875 Pro Hand Dryer, but before I go any further, I will like to first disclose that I do not recommend the frequent use of heated appliances in the hair no matter if it is relaxed or natural due to the potential to severely damage the hair. It is acceptable to use heated appliances sparingly for we all deserve a treat, but please limit your use of them to preserve your hair and length. Well, on to the review!

I purchased the RED Ceramic hand dryer from my local beauty store last week. I have seen quite a few products by the RED company such as ceramic flat irons, hand dryers, and curling irons and they’re all reasonable priced. The RED by Kiss Ceramic 1875 Pro dryer was priced at $29.99.

I used this dryer when I decided to straighten my hair to see it’s true length and this dryer worked extremely well. The dryer comes with a diffuser and 2 wide tooth comb attachments in 2 different lengths. I also like that the combs are made of a thick plastic material. You don’t have to worry about losing teeth in your combs with this dryer, but if you are detangling properly your hair or your comb attachments won’t suffer any damage at all.

With conventional hand dryers, it usually takes me about 45 minutes to an hour to completely dry my hair leaving me with frizzy hair, but with the RED Ceramic Pro dryer, my hair was dry in about 20 minutes. I was also left with smooth, soft, hair with a nice sheen. I highly recommend this dryer because it works well, and is reasonably priced.

So what do I mean by too much heat? Well if you are wearing your hair natural or even relaxed for that matter you should play close attention to the heated styling tools you are using in your hair.

Women who’ve decided to wear their hair natural and free of chemicals should take this close in mind if they decided to straighten and curl their hair because using a heated tool that is hotter or is as hot as 300 degrees Fahrenheit will actual break down and burn the cuticle and alter the natural curl of the hair just like a relaxer does. The hair will never curl back too it’s natural state no matter how much you wash and condition it. If you use heated tools such as a pressing comb, flat iron, curling iron, etc. Keep the temperature at no hotter than 200 degrees to be on the safe side. This goes for women with chemically relaxed hair too. Your hair is already suffered enough alterations from the relaxer you have so you need to take extra care of your hair and be sure to follow these guidelines as well.

Too much heat is bad for natural and chemically treated hair. Those flat irons that gloat about heating up to 400 degrees and higher are actually bad for your hair’s health! Make sure you use a heated tool with a temperature gauge and keep at it 200 degrees or below. Remember if your hair becomes damaged it will break off and when it breaks off it won’t gain length.

Happy Hair Growing!

Flat irons, straigtening combs, curling irons, all these appliances our dry hair dreads so dearly. These appliances actually dry out and damage our hair and can cause breakage if used way too often.

Do you flat iron or press your hair daily? How many times have you used your curling iron this week? Do you blow dry your hair when you wash it?

Daily flat ironing should be avoided, along with pressing the hair and/or curling it daily. Once or twice a week is fine and it should be limited to one use per washing and conditioning treatment. You should also apply a moisturizer such as the Organic Root Stimulator Carrot oil, Shea Butter, or the Curls Milkshake to the hair 5 minutes prior to applying a heated appliance. Using a heated appliance more than this will cause drying and breakage of the hair.

Blow Dryers on the other hand should always be avoided. They are extremely damaging because the dry the hair by focusing an extreme amount of heat on the hair. I will NEVER recommend using a blow dryer. Instead try air drying your hair or sitting under a dome hair dryer with the setting set to medium.

Marcel Ovens are also a particular no no because there is no way of knowing what the temperature is of the heated appliance you’ve placed in the oven. You will end up burning out your hair! Instead always use electric appliances, this way the temperature is controlled and you are aware of how hot the appliance really is.

Using heated appliances is one of the reasons why our hair is short and damaged. They give us a luxurious look and feel, but at what cost? Our hair falling out our heads and breaking! It is okay to use heated appliances, but limit them to once or twice a week and be sure to only use electric appliances.
