I decided to try some products from a site that one of my readers recommended in the comments area. I’m really glad I did. After that day more and more sites have been revealed to me with other product options that will be great for our hair! I have a lot of work to do with trying out these different products and reviewing them. I ended up visiting a site known as curls.biz and I spent $84 on 5 products (shampoo, conditioner, moisturizer, and 2 styling products). All the products are all natural and their made with organic ingredients.

I’ve already tried a shampoo, conditioner, moisturizer, and a styling product which I will review this month, but today lets focus on CURLS delicious smelling shampoo, the Curlicious Curls Cleansing Cream.

CURLS offers two different shampoos on their website, a clarifying shampoo, and the cleansing cream. I do not care for the clarifying shampoo for African American hair because it contains sulfates and as I’ve stated so many times in previous articles, sulfates are not recommended for black hair. I do however love the Curlicious Curls Cleansing Cream. It’s all natural and it smells so good. My hair was not only clean, but soft. This shampoo will not strip your hair of it’s natural oils. It is very gentle, moisturizing, but effective.

I’ve used shampoos in the past geared for African American hair which always left my hair feeling heavy and oily because of the heavy conditioners and oils it contained. Curlicious Curls Cleansing Cream is nothing like those shampoos, and I will be adding this shampoo to my recommendation list starting today!

If you decide to purchase the CURLS Curlicious Cleansing Cream from curls.biz instead of the Grow Black Hair Shop, be sure to use my reference code to let them know I referred you: REF-6JK0O46R. Thanks!

From what I read on the site this product is recommended as a curl definer with a light hold for 3c-4b hair. I used the product according to the directions on the site to see if I’d get the beautiful defined curls with a natural sheen that they claimed this product would achieve, but I was completely disappointed with my results. I first want to be clear with you what steps I took before I applied this product so no one can say I did it wrong:

I washed my hair with the CURLS Curlicious Cleansing Cream and rinsed it thoroughly with warm water. Next I applied the Coconut Sublime Conditioner and left it on for about 5 minutes. I rinsed my hair again and I spray the Quenched Curls Moisturizer to my hair while it was still soaking wet. I then put about a quarter sized amount of the CURLS Whipped Cream into the palm of my hands and rubbed my hands together and worked the cream into my hair section by section. My hair was soft with a light hold and a nice sheen while it was still damp. It looked really fluffy and soft and I liked it, but when my hair dried my hair was hard, dry, and dull. The definition was gone and my hair looked frizzy. I also had a white chalky film in my hair and I was horrified with my hair. I washed the product out of my hair the following day. This product did not measure up to Kinky Curly Curling Custard which is what I will continue to use for curl definition.

I decided to use the product for two strand twists and braids. My twist turned out really nice and shiny and soft. I didn’t want my money to go to waste so I will continue to use this product for two strand twists and braids only. I do not recommend this product for curl definition. If you want curl definition and you have 3c-4b hair use Kinky Curly Curling Custard instead. If you are wanting to wear 2 strand twists, twist outs, and cornrows, then this product is perfect for those styles.

If you decide to purchase the CURLS Whipped Cream from curls.biz instead of the Grow Black Hair Shop, be sure to use my reference code to let them know I referred you: REF-6JK0O46R. Thanks!

I actually really like this product and I plan on purchasing the economy size because this is something that I will be using on a daily basis to moisturize my hair. It smells so good and it gives my hair just the right amount of moisture.

As you may know I am a fan of Kinky-Curly and if you use the Curling Custard you also know that using other products while the custard is in your hair causes the Kinky-Curly Curling Custard to cake up and look dirty. I have discovered that when I use the Quenched Curls Moisturizer in my hair to refresh my curls, it not only adds moisture, but it refreshes my curls without the nasty build up that other products cause.

Quenched Curls is water based with added moisturizers and oils so it acts better than using plain water to refresh hair with KCCC applied to it. Even if you don’t use the Kinky-Curly products, this product is great to use as a moisturizer right after you shampoo and condition and/or to use everyday. I may not like every product that CURLS has designed for African American hair, but this product is something I won’t mind purchasing on a regular basis for my natural hair.

If you decide to purchase the CURLS Quenched Curls Moisturizer from curls.biz instead of the Grow Black Hair Shop, be sure to use my reference code to let them know I referred you: REF-6JK0O46R. Thanks!

This shampoo smells so delicious and you can do this while your in the shower. Please be advised that you still need to deep condition your hair every 2 weeks if not once a week to keep it in tip top shape.

To use the Coconut Sublime Moisturizing Conditioner shampoo your hair with a sulfate free shampoo and rinse thoroughly. Squeeze your hair gently to remove excess water and apply the conditioner to your hair from root to tip, paying close attention to your ends. Next finish your shower leaving the conditioner on the hair for 5-10 minutes. Rinse the hair with warm water and squeeze excess water from your hair. If you are a natural do not towel blot because this will cause frizz.

My hair felt soft, moisturized and my curls looked radiant just after using this conditioner one time. I’ve also used this conditioner on my sons hair whom has 3C/4a hair and his curls were so springy, shiny, and soft. His hair no longer looks dry anymore(due to the use of Ultra Black Hair hair products) since I’ve been using the CURLS product line in his hair. I am really falling in love with the CURLS products. I love the Coconut Sublime Moisturizing Conditioner, the Quenched Curls Moisturizer, the Curlicious Cleansing Cream, and I’m even growing to love the CURLS Whipped Cream as a moisturizer and for braids and twists ONLY. Not a curl definer!

Not to get off the subject, but these products are proving that they are well worth the money I spent. Their all natural and their made to address the top concerns of black hair(dryness). CURLS products are made with rich butters and natural oils that work wonders in African American hair.

I used the Curls Ecstasy Hair Tea conditioner the day I received it in the mail from CURLS. They give you a fairly big bottle that should last a while, given the fact that you will probably deep conditioning far less than your conditioning rinses that are used every time you wash. I recommend to deep condition your hair every 2 weeks to once a month depending on the health of your hair. If your hair is relaxed or damaged, breaking off, and thinning then a deep conditioning treatment will be best to do every 2 weeks. For natural hair that is totally virgin (without any chemicals including hair dye), then once a month is suitable because your hair should be fairly healthy.

When I first used the Curls Ecstasy Hair Tea, I removed my plaits and washed with the Come Clean shampoo by Kinky-Curly. I then followed with the hair conditioner which smelled like Green Tea and lemon zest almost. I covered my hair with a plastic cap and sat under a warm hooded dryer for 25 minutes. I then rinsed my hair and my hair felt really strong and soft. The conditioner strengthened my hair to a point where I was actually able to notice a difference. I’m really glad I decided to try this conditioner.

So far I haven’t been disappointed by anything that CURLS offer for black hair. The products are made for our hair in mind. Everything is moisturizing and totally natural. Even for relaxed hair, these products are a must have. According to CURLS, the Curls Ecstasy Hair Tea conditioner is the perfect treatment for chemically treated hair.
