The Caramel Treatment [Video]
Written by Samara on December 13, 2009
The Caramel Treatment is something I started to hear naturals rave about after being natural for about 8 months or so. I wanted to know more about it and from what I gather it is a really good deep conditioner that makes the hair more manageable and packs the hair with tons of moisture. I also discovered that the Janelle Beauty System is secretly the Caramel Treatment. It allows the hair to be straightened with less heat than if you didn’t use the treatment at all..
If you are relaxed and are trying to prolong your relaxer before your next touch-up, or your natural and you want more manageability, you should give the caramel treatment a try. I loved it and I use it once per month.
Below is a video of myself mixing and applying the caramel treatment:
Ingredients:
6 TBSP Raw Honey
6 TBSP Olive Oil
3 TBSP Molasses
1 TSP Apple Cider Vinegar
2-3 Containers of pureed (baby food) bananas
1 TSP Natural oil (ex. coconut, wheat germ, etc.)
1-2 TSP cornstarch

Have you seen, tried, or heard of the Chaz Dean WEN natural hair care products (they’re have been informercials too). I’m not interested in the masque and other treatments, but rather the shampoo or cleansing conditoner.
- These are the ingredients in the cleansing conditoner: Water, Glycerin, Cetyl Alcohol, Rosemary Leaf Extract, Wild Cherry Fruit Extract, Fig Extract, Chamomile Extract, Marigold Flower Extract, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine, Amodimethicone, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Polysorbate 60, Panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B-5), Menthol, Sweet Almond Oil, PEG-60 Almond Glycerides, Methlisothiazolinone, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Citric Acid, Essential Oils.
Whatd do you thinK?
I never heard of it, but now I’m interested. The conditioner’s ingredients look good. The only thing I don’t like in it is the dimethicone(Amodimethicone), which is a silicone and causes buildup. If you do decide to use the product make sure you clarify your hair at least every month.
