Ultra Black Hair Lotion Creme Moisturizer Product Review Please see this post after reading this product review. I’ve been using the Ultra Black Hair Lotion Creme Moisturizer product for about a month and a half and so far so good. I wish I would’ve ordered the larger bottle because I wasn’t planning on using it as much as I’ve been using it. I only purchased the 16 oz. bottle because I planned on only using the hair lotion after my weekly conditioning treatments. I planned on using the Ultra Black Hair Dew daily (I will review later), but after a protein treatment you may have to apply the hair lotion twice a day for 2-3 days for the hair to feel soft again and then switch to the dew once a day for the remainder of the week.

The Ultra Black Hair Lotion Creme Moisturizer is especially good to use immediately after conditioning your hair with a protein conditioner to help soften and moisturize it because protein dries the hair out, this moisturizer will restore the moisture balance in your hair.  I use the moisturizer every morning and sometimes I use a little hair oil for an extra sheen.

The UBH hair lotion creme is light weight and it has no odor at all. You should not apply it to your scalp, but rather your hair paying close attention to the ends. It doesn’t give much of a shine though so you should invest in a light hair oil such as the Strawberry or Cherry oil made by Perfect Results for that glossy, shiny effect. Other than that this is a great moisturizer because it doesn’t contain any mineral oil, petroleum or protein. Instead it contains the right amount of oil, water, and humercants that black hair needs to prevent breakage and maintain a good moisture balance.

The only drawback that I find with this product is you can only order it online at and it is rather expensive ($14.00 for a 16oz bottle). With that in mind if you are serious about growing your hair you’d invest in this product regardless of the price. Jjust skip your weekly trips to the beauty salon and limit them to one trip every 6-8 weeks for a touch-up and special occasions and the $35-$45 dollars you spend can be put back for a 4-6 month supply of UBH hair lotion to add length and grow your hair long, strong, and beautiful.

  1. Hi Samara,

I have 3 Questions. Sorry It’s so long.

    1) Do you think “Elasta QP Moisturizing Mango Butter” could be a good moisturizer also?

Aqua(purified water), squalane(olive oil derived), caprylic/capric triglyceride(coconut oil derived), peg-75 lanolin, behntrimonium methosulfate, hexadecanol, cetearyl alcohol, ceterareth-20, dimethicone, phenyl trimethicone, mangifera indica (MANG0) seed butter, theobroma cacao (COCOA) seed butter, hydrolyzed silk, serica, methylparaben, propylparaben, butylparaben, fragrance, fd&c yellow no.5 (CI 19140)

    2) From Perfect Results do you buy the Non-Aerosal Oil or the Hair and Body Oil?

    3) Last Question. What shampoo do you use? Motions CPR /UBH Shampoo/ORS Uplifting Shampoo.

  2. No. I would not recommend that moisturizer because it contains protein which dries out the hair. “Hydrolyzed silk” is a protein which should only be contained in your conditioner.

I use the Hair and Body Oil by Perfect Results and I only use two types of shampoos. I use Aphogee Shampoo for Damaged Hair and Motions CPR Shampoo.

  4. I have been using Ultra Black hair products for a month and absolutely love how my hair feels to the touch. My hair is thin and because I do not use hair oil, my hair always felt dry. Since using these products, my hair is in better health. I will continue using these products on a regular basis.
